Asking for Support – When Life Gets Tough
All of us have old messages that we have picked up from well-meaning folks in our lives, that are just not in our best interest. I’ve had an old idea that I’ve been continually working to release over the years. I’ve been letting go of it through effort, and processes, and contrary actions. This limiting old belief was “I have to take care of myself – because no one else will.” You may have that as one of your old ideas. Saying it out loud now makes me feel very sad, that I thought I was so alone. It’s completely contrary to my Natural Knowing, and my personal experiences, that the Loving Universe is totally taking care of me (and you) Always and in All Ways. And that the Universe works miracles through our actions and through other people.
Yet every once in a while, some challenge arises and this old idea re-surfaces. My first reaction is resistance to disclose my struggle and ask for support…but I do it anyway because I know that my burden shared is a burden lessened. Sharing our humanity and vulnerability allows others the Gift of comforting and consoling us. It is the exchange of a Loving Energy flow between us…Heart talking to Heart.
When we break down and seek assistance, we are no longer trying to figure out our life in a vacuum all alone – even if the very asking is terrifying and embarrassing – even if we are not sure solutions exist – even if we are sure we won’t like the solutions.
If we take a chance and share our feelings of where we are right now, our Cheerleaders can also be our Collaborators. They can’t do our life for us, but they can be Compassionate and Inspirational guides. My experience is that when I am vulnerable, someone (or multiple people) appear who have had the same experience, and can share with me how they managed to get to the other side…to give me Hope.
I am Blessed and Grateful to have created a lot of wonderful supporters, mentors and cheerleaders in my life. I believe it is because I stay willing and open to Receive, so the Universe can Full Fill my needs. Whether all of them are aware of it or not – Source lovingly works through them to help Guide me.
