Fear Lesson #2 – Wherever You Go, There You Are …

You can run but you can’t hide…from yourself. Sometimes we think if we just get a change of scenery, things will be different. The next job will be different. The next relationship will be different. However, there is a common factor in all of this…you.

Fear is a corroding element. At times, it overpowers us. All consuming fear and terror about little things and big things and unknown things. But, we can’t seem to get rid of our fears just by wishing them away. So we think, maybe if we just run from what we fear, we can find peace.

People can hurt our feelings. If their efforts are cruel, they can injure our psyche, which can color the way we look at life. We begin to see life circumstances through the filter of our injury and we react by either retaliating or retreating. These reactions happen automatically depending on the situation or our personality and it seems we have no control over these reactions.

But no one can injure our soul. God lovingly protects our spirit and essence from harm. So deep down within us we have a powerful core. We have a bright light that sometimes needs to be energized into a Light Power source. When we are reacting out of fear, we are in our self-willed, very small self and not in touch with our Best Self. But that power is within us whether we are sensing it right this minute or not.

Centered Action

When you find yourself in times of trouble, you need to get still and imagine that there is a white glowing light inside you in the center of your chest. And imagine that light getting brighter. And imagine that light has the power to protect you from any harm – from any one – from anything. The more we can sense our Goodness, the more we find Peace. The less we see through our damaged sense of fear. This is not weakness – it is inner strength. Are we able to get in touch with our Power all the time? Of course not. But intention to live our life from a place of Peaceful Power enables us to find that Peace more often.

The first time you try to light your fire, you may sense nothing. You may not be able to envision this light. But the light is there. Your Power is there.

We may think that our circumstances are too different for something as simple as intending to find our inner strength to work. It can’t possibly be that simple! It may only work to calm us for a minute – but practice can give us continual peace.

Close your eyes and concentrate on shining your light. Whether you believe it or feel anything, just concentrate on that place in your heart and imagine a light growing brighter and brighter. Seeing through the filter of our broken psyche may be our first reaction, but it doesn’t have to be our only view to life.

Practice finding your Peace.
