Private: Reaching for a Higher Thought

Our Spirit says, “Here I am. Stepping up for Service.” Our fear gives all the excuses and objections. Our Spirit is led by Love and Compassion. Fear keeps us alone and stimulates negative thinking. Spirit stands in the Sunlight. Fear hides in the shadows of our darkness.

Our fear says, “This is too impossibly hard. I just can’t; I’m not able to let my Light Shine.” Often, we need to ask others for help to show us our Light, but we may be unable to let them in. We sometimes let our negativity win out. It is easy for our fear messages to become familiar and comfortable friends. When we get stuck there, spiraled down, we are in trouble.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am positive and optimistic by nature. I can pretty much find an opportunity in any situation. But I have to tell you that in these crazy times, I have found myself getting wound up and saying “you’re an idiot” to some stranger on the TV news. Their actions activate a fear of potential danger for me or someone I love, and I react. Anger and fear don’t make me feel good. I don’t think they make anybody feel good. And I don’t like feeling upset which is always a big motivator for me. So, I am triggered and challenged to stop and look. What am I feeling and thinking? What is a different way I can look at this? The Universal Truth is, there is always another positive or compassionate side to every situation. When I am in the connected, stepping up for Service mode, my fear doesn’t speak ahead of my heart.

We are all continuously flowing between our fearful self and our Spirit Self. When we dip down into dark thoughts, all we have to do is to be willing, and to literally reach for and think a different thought. And then think a different thought again. Willingness and catching ourselves are the keys.
