You are Unique and Special
Since a lot of my beliefs and lifestyles are not quite mainstream, there have been times – and sometimes there still are times that I have negative self-talk and label myself as weird and different. And the truth is, my way of thinking is not for everyone. I have family members that roll their eyes when I bring up certain topics. And at the same table, someone is listening intently, taking it all in. If I stopped myself from sharing because of criticisms from myself or others, the people who needed the message would not get what they need.
Here is the crazy brain thinking. If I’m thinking I’m “different,” I can’t find commonality in my relationships…or at least I think I can’t. The truth is we all at times feel weird or different.
On the flip side, we may think that calling ourselves Unique and Special is bragging and prideful. We think that it isn’t “Spiritual” or even polite to sing our own praises. We believe that saying this will set us apart from others, and they’ll judge that we are egotistical. So, we literally cannot win. We lock ourselves into dimming our Light through self-judgement and separation. I have talked to enough people who judge themselves in both of these ways, to determine this is just part of our human condition – both sides of this thinking are part of our old limiting ideas.
And there is an even stranger phenomenon of our human nature. When I’m not okay with myself, nobody else is okay to me. If I’m okay with myself, others seem perfectly okay to me. Feel free to test this when you are having a bad day.
We are created purposefully just as we are, to make up this exciting world full of choices. Each of our individual preferences and ways of thinking make up the fascinating spice of life. When we can allow it, we can see that our uniqueness is the very thing that makes us both interesting and interested – and that it actually helps us connect with, and learn from, others. When I can let you be who you are, and you can let me be who I am – with no judgements or conditions – we each can feel free to share about ourselves – and potentially learn something new as well.
Your being Unique and Special offers something no one else can…your Gifts that you alone can offer to the world. If you were not exactly who you are, you could not do what you do and benefit others that are influenced by your connection with them. These are Truly Miraculous Uniquely Special Talents that we all have because of our Uniqueness. We all have the Super Power to Make a Difference. This is not ego. It is our Glorious Magnificence…each and every one of us! When we claim that miracle and beauty, we are expressing Gratitude for Spirit Shining through us.
