Challenging Thoughts for Challenging Times

Everyone experiences times in their life when they have losses related to health. Some of these losses are temporary inconveniences when we are physically unable to function as we usually do. They are frustrating times but we cope by assuring ourselves that it is something that will resolve itself if we just show patience.

Some of us have losses due to health issues that are more permanent; where we have lost our former quality of life. Maybe a loved one has had a deterioration of health and our lives have been changed because of it. They are not who they were. Living with health problems is stressful and wears us out; it takes every ounce of our being to just get through each day.

We sometimes feel powerless and angry over the situation. We may have the sense of an inability to get ourselves motivated to move and feel alive. We may feel regret for unfulfilled goals and failed expectations – why didn’t we do more when we could do more? We may be getting bogged down with the loss and fearful about tomorrow.

 

Centered Action

Have I remembered to breathe? I need to take this moment right now and take a deep full breath. Inhale Life, and exhale. And now I take another cleansing breath and Breathe In Peace, and exhale. When I consciously breathe I pull the energy from my worrying head and my heavy heart into my body to center me. When I do this, my thinking is clearer and I am present in this moment. I trust that my Highest Self will provide an intuitive next step and the energy to act on it.
