Freedom Recovery

Healing Life Experience

Jody Drexler

If you are living your life reacting to your negative thoughts and memories, you are not free. You may have just resigned yourself to thinking, “Oh well, I am just a product of my bad luck or someone else’s bad behavior and I just have to carry on.” If you are tethered to your past, you see life through that filter, and you instinctively shield yourself from trusting yourself or others, which affects every aspect of your life—family, love relationships, work and friendships. You cannot be open to Love with a capital L. These stresses also begin to break down your physical body in pains and illnesses that just seem to appear.

My book is called Freedom Recovery: A Guide to Finding Your Sacred Self. It’s a comprehensive work, with deep and substantive focus and helpful exercises on the areas of your life with which everyone struggles.

As you read this book, we will use principles practiced in addiction recovery combined with tools developed through holistic healing experiences. Through this practical, loving and empowering guide, you will learn to release old blocks, gain tools for enhancing their lives and uncover their Sacred Self.

My Approach

Why go through the Freedom Recovery Process?

If you are living your life reacting, as if on automatic pilot to your negative thoughts and memories of what has happened to you, you are not free.   You may have just resigned yourself to thinking, “Oh well, I am just a product of my bad luck or someone else’s bad behavior and I just have to carry on.”   If you are tethered to your past, you see life through that filter.   You instinctively shield yourself from trusting yourself or others, which affects every aspect of your life – family, love-relationships, work, and friendships.  You cannot be completely open to Love.  These stresses may also begin to break down your physical body in the form of pains and illnesses that just seem to appear.  If any of this rings true for you, you are at the turning point to change.

What is the Freedom Recovery Process?

Everyone goes through three stages throughout their lifetime.  Arriving.  Awakening. And Awareness. Arriving is our birth or anything that resembles a new start.  Making any new change in your life – like willingness to open yourself up to new possibilities – is an Arrival point.  Through this process you will be taken through writing exercises, meditations, and body centering techniques to move through the stages of Arriving, Awakening and Awareness.  You will develop your own and personal Spirit-Centered life – and discover a new Freedom.

The First Step – Be the Witness – Tell Your Story

The first time we tell our story we have a lot of emotional energetic baggage.  It feels very heavy or we candy-coat the bits we don’t want to reveal even to ourselves.  We are invested in the drama of the script.

But what if you could view your life as an impartial observer, culling the patterns and grievances that needed healing; Determining the old ideas and behaviors that once were important but no longer serve you today?  This is the Sacredness of being the Witness and telling your story.

Now Tell Your Story

Set a timer for 15 minutes.  Think of writing your story from a bird’s eye view where you can see your whole life.  You are creating a high-level overview of influencing events.  Tell your story as if you were describing the details to a supportive friend or counselor.  If you have a desire to write more, set the timer for another 15 minutes.  You can always come back to this exercise if something comes to mind later.  This is your Sacred life and the beginning of the process of Arriving, Awareness and Awakening.
