New Meditations
Challenging Thoughts for Challenging TimesNo matter what society may seem to say, and no matter what your mother or your father told you, money and possessions cannot give you worth. If our self-worth is tied up in our prestige or external “stuff” when those things go away, so does our feelings of worth. We are left with nothing and we feel we are nothing. In the end it does not matter what anyone else thinks. It only matters what we think of ourselves. If we allow our financial status to determine our net-worth we are in trouble. Our net worth is more about how we conduct ourselves than what we own. Mother Teresa was as poor as a church mouse but was very rich in deed, because of the goodness in her heart. What we have or what we own, is not who we are. When we die, we are not taking it with us. We only get to keep the Sense of Grace that we have been given or earned.
Here is the truth about all financial problems (and other problems); we have to do the footwork if we want to resolve our situation, but we have to leave the results to our Highest Good.
Believe in the Goodness within you that has every solution to your problems.
If we are spinning our wheels expending a lot of energy trying to fix things, we are not productive. My experience is that the Universe has a hysterical sense of humor with me. When I have had stressful financial fears and I have prayed for help, the phone rings and it is someone in need of help. Invariably, while I am trying to give to someone else and not paying attention to my own “horrible” problems, a solution is revealed. When I am so wrapped up in my problems that I have forgotten to enjoy life and be of service, I am also forgetting my ability to create. We are intuitive beings and solutions can come from within us as a spark of inspiration. And if we are listening closely, the answers we are seeking may be revealed from words of a friend or even a stranger.
