New Meditations
Challenging Thoughts for Challenging TimesIf we can envision holding a hula hoop around our middle, we can get an idea of how big our energetic “comfort zone” is. At least one foot all around us. When someone “gets in our face” and comes very close to us, we get threatened because they are literally intruding on our energetic body.
Philosophically we can use this same analogy about intruding into other people’s business. What is inside my hula hoop is my stuff – what’s outside is not. If something is outside of my hula hoop it is out of my control and none of my business.
But what If something is happening to someone we love and care about and we’re afraid for them? We may want to step in and fix, or make them change…and we feel totally justified. Don’t they see what they are doing? Why can’t they foresee the consequences? If you are thinking these thoughts you are way too personally involved, and you may be about to do damage to your relationship. We have no control to fix or change. Only they have the control and choices over what is happening in their hula hoop.
Centered Action
We can send positive love thoughts. It’s as simple as thinking or saying “I love you.” This is a prayer and prayers are energy that can lift someone else when they seemingly cannot lift themselves. Prayers have the power to heal. Then, we have to let them make their own choices…and trust their Path.
Today let me stay in my own hula hoop!
