New Meditations
Challenging Thoughts for Challenging TimesWe all have days that we mark as special…wedding day, birth of a child, graduation day, start of a job or a career. When we have these special days, we have an idea that life from that point on is going to be a certain way based on our understanding of life at that moment. And that is absolutely valid and correct. It is the truth at that moment in time. These are wonderful, hope-filled days.
Then maybe things change – life sometimes gets in the way of our dreams. Things might not work out the way we had planned and we start to second guess our decisions or actions. Life is not the way we imagined at the beginning of that journey. In fact, we could not imagine in our wildest dreams that things would turn out the way that they did.
These special days are markers on our life line. They are markers we connect to other events in our life. If that had not happened, then this other unbelievably wonderful thing could not have happened. Some markers we cherish – some we want to forget but they are all just days of our life. Some decisions we make work out marvelously…some not so much. They are necessary for molding who we are today and who we will be tomorrow.
Centered Action
Those choices on those special days were thrilling and awe filled experiences. Days to be cherished in our memories. Nothing that happens subsequently can change that. We need to forgive ourselves for seeming mistakes made unknowingly. What is the lesson to be learned? We need to see how much we have grown from the experience. Every day has a purpose.
Live today and every day as if it is a special, wonder-filled day.
