Challenging Thoughts for Challenging Times

Whatever thoughts I entertain, becomes my reality.  If I welcome limiting thoughts or negative thoughts into the home of my mind and feed them – they get comfortable and stay.  If I’ve made a rule that every spring I get a cold, then my body complies and every spring I get a cold.  I am stuck with the rule and the negative results that I have welcomed into my life.

Not only do we entertain these thoughts, we then tell other people our rules about ourselves which then cements them in our consciousness.  We are literally getting the Universe to agree with us.  Any time we start a sentence with “I am…” or “My…” we are telling the Universe what we are claiming as our own … whether it is what we want or not.  

The truth is, you had the thought – you made it into a rule – you have the power to break the cycle.  Words have power.  You may still get a cold but you don’t have to own the cold – you don’t have to ensure the cold’s continuance.  You don’t have to put “MY” in front of any old ideas. My arthritis, my bad luck … You definitely don’t want to be STUCK with such things as these. 

 

Centered Action

Choose Freedom from your thinking.  Every time you think or say to yourself, or to someone else, a limiting negative thought – catch yourself and say – wow I don’t want that in my life.  It may have served me at one time but it doesn’t serve me now.  I am pulling that thought right out of my head and letting it go.  The more we see our limitation thinking the less power the thoughts have over us.  These are really unwelcome guests and it is time to clean house.
